Does anyone know how to make homemade biscuits without baking powder or baking soda?

I want to make homemade biscuits but I do not have any baking powder. The baking soda I have, is what is in my fridge to help with smells. And yes, I know they are not interchangeable. I do not have a whole lot of groceries because I just moved into a newer house. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

I do have yeast but its what I use in my bread machine.
I have all purpose flour.

or baking soda those are the only things that make bubbles if you want something NOW
Maybe you have BISQUICK it has the leavening builit in it.

Has a can of expired biscuits ever exploded in you trash can?

I threw out a can of expired biscuits. A while later a heard a loud pop, and now my plastic trash can is destroyed. The biscuits warmed up and shot out the end of the can like a gun, shot a hole threw the side. wtf??

BQ: Does anyone have a trash can that I could have?

I used to go with bourbons myself – but homemade biscotti looks good – and as for having a penguin explode in my mouth – well……

Amount Measure Ingredient — Preparation Method

1 quart milk or cream
1 1/2 cups butter or lard
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Knead well and mold into neat, small biscuits with your hands. Bake well and you have a good sweet biscuit that will keep for weeks in a dry place. They are fine for a traveling bunch.

Amount Measure Ingredient — Preparation Method

2 c Bisquick
1/2 c Shredded sharp cheddar
2/3 c Milk
1/4 c Melted butter
1/4 ts Garlic powder

Mix Bisquick, cheddar and milk into soft dough. Beat
with a wooden spoon for about 30 seconds. Spoon on to
greased cookie sheet. Smooth down tops. (Bisquick
forms sharp hard points otherwise) Bake for 8 to 10 min at450 degrees.

While baking, melt butter in pan and stir in garlic
powder. Take bisquits from oven when done and brush
butter on tops and serve hot.

1 c warm water (115°)
1 pk dry yeast
½ cup sugar
1 tb salt
3/4 c cooking oil
½ teaspoon soda
2 c buttermilk
6 c flour
3 tb baking powder

Mix together warm water, yeast, sugar and salt.
When yeast is dissolved, add oil.
Combine soda with buttermilk and add to yeast mixture.
Sift together flour and baking powder.
Combine dry and liquid ingredients.
Place in airtight (covered) container in refrigerator and use as
needed. The longer this dough is kept, the better it is.
When ready to use, preheat oven to 350° F.
Place amount of dough you can lift with two teaspoons into
each cup of greased muffin tins.
Let rise until double in bulk.
Bake at 350°F about 30 minutes, until brown.

Question for British people about how certian words mean something else in our different versions of English?

Okay, we say French Fries, you say chips. We say chips, you say crisps.

We say cookie, you say biscuit…well, we call baked lumps of dough biscuits…what do you call baked lumps of dough? Because biscuits are plain, so they aren’t muffins or scones. Scones are something VERY different.

I’m American but I’ve lived in England for 4 years. They don’t have biscuits because haven’t you heard the phrase “british food sucks” They have scones. But scones are hard. I guess you could put butter in it. I’d just learn how to make homemade biscuits. Or you could eat this bread they have. I don’t know what it’s called but it’s sort of like toasted sourdough. That’s the closest they get to biscuits
